Ocean Relaxing Sounds When You are Feeling Stressed

Have you been feeling tired and overwhelmed at work? Got too much to do and too little time? Or maybe things are moving too fast, so you need to concentrate harder to stay on top of them.  Work can be very stressful at times, leading to anxiety, headaches, migraines, digestion issues, and other problems. Anxiety’s a terrible thing and can have many short and long-term impacts on our health. So what do you do when you feel like things are spiraling out of control? You need to earn to pay the bills, so giving up or going AWOL isn’t an option. The solution to some of these problems is surprisingly simple: nature sounds. I know, it sounds silly. But hear me out. Most of the time, negative effects form a vicious circle or a loop, so it’s impossible to snap out of the cycle. So, for example, your stressful job gives you anxiety, the anxiety makes it hard for you to focus on work, and lack of focus delays things and makes the job more stressful still. This is not good.

Go to Sleep Sound Effect

You can break out of this loop by playing relaxing nature sounds while you work. It sounds like an oversimplification, but we promise it works. Here’s how. For one, ocean sounds, and other nature sounds, cut out background noise. It’s usually recommended that you play nature sounds while you wear a headphone, so this benefit is more clear. If background noises are eliminated, that will reduce the number of distractions you encounter. Next, as most people know and agree, the sound of the ocean is relaxing. Have you ever been to the seaside? It’s a very soothing, tranquil sound. It’s pleasant and it reminds you of beaches, sunny days, cool water and palm trees. The sound of the waves crashing on the shore is repetitive, constant, unchanging. That’s soothing in and of itself, it reminds you that nature is strong and will always be a solace. The weather doesn't even have to be nice, waves crashing against the shore on a stormy day can be just as relaxing

Nature sounds are calming and increases focus

Listening to the sound of nature will soothe you. If you’re feeling worried and overwhelmed, lie back for ten to fifteen minutes, close your eyes and listen to the sound of the waves. Take deep breaths. Focus on the sound. Imagine you’re sitting on a chair near the sea. See the seagulls in your mind’s eye, the swaying palms, the endless blue ocean. You’ll soon feel better. When you’re ready, open your eyes and review the task at hand. Plan things, write down the goal you’re trying to achieve and the step you need to take right now in order to achieve it. Maybe you need to read through some research, dig out an old file, or think of a good title. Start with that one thing. When you’re overwhelmed, it’s time to forget deadlines for just a minute and take baby steps towards results. Try out different nature sounds to see what works best for you

Do you know another benefit of nature sounds for work? They actually help you focus on the task ahead. Nature sounds are usually, with some exceptions, constant and monotonous, so while they block out background noises they’ll fill it with a constant, pleasant sound for your mind. This will, in turn, help you concentrate and get in the right headspace for work or study. Discordant sounds such as traffic, chatter or other noises of day-to-day life can have a disruptive effect on our ability to focus and be productive at work. It sounds too good to be true, but you don’t have to take our word for it! Nature sound clips are usually free and can be downloaded within minutes. Or if you find it more convenient, you can just play them online. Give them a try the next time you’re at work. First, sit quietly and listen to the sounds for a few minutes, and then start your work while the sounds play. Make sure you have headphones on for maximum effect

Now, nature sounds aren’t just helpful for focusing on work. They also help people sleep better, meditate, study, and relax. Generally, when the goal is to relieve stress and either relax or concentrate, nature sounds can be used. Lack of sleep, for example, can be very worrying. Whether it’s caused by noisy neighbors, an upset sleep schedule, the weather or health problems, the result is the same. You feel frazzled, tired and irritable. Sleep is crucial for good health, and losing sleep can have a disastrous effect on your life. Nature sounds can, with their soothing qualities, lull you to sleep. It’s healthier and more sustainable than taking sleeping pills, although we’d definitely advise you to follow your doctor’s advice first. Nature sounds for sleep are generally water or wind sounds, as they have less variation than, for example, birdsong. We recommend playing them on a speaker while you get ready to sleep, and leave them on if you live in a noisy neighborhood. Wearing headphones at night may disrupt sleep. Go through our available nature sounds and pick one that works for you. We have something for everyone, with new nature videos uploaded frequently
